By educating major stakeholders in the housing industry and by supporting the development of underrepresented individuals, Alinement Initiative will transform the way affordable housing and consumer education are delivered throughout the country.

The real estate technology industry is rapidly evolving with new companies introducing innovative ways to help people achieve equitable homeownership. Alinement serves as a platform that connects startups, established companies, consumer advocates, and other industry experts to foster mission-driven partnerships, and develop best practices for new initiatives. They also offer mentorship guidance to assist emerging thought leaders in navigating potential risks and protecting consumers and the market.
To specifically address the challenges in the real estate technology space, a broad collaborative of stakeholders must collaborate to identify solutions that promote access and equity through homeownership. Alinement facilitates this collaboration by providing a space for education, innovation, and action on primary issues of supply and affordability, access and equity, and sustainable homeownership. We also foster a community for idea-incubation, to facilitate feedback for responsible innovation with intention and promote a safe and stable consumer market.
By establishing trusted partnerships, Alinement aims to address critical issues that can hinder or advance equity through innovation. We leverage a network of established research and thought leadership to support and promote tried and tested solutions, ultimately contributing to the advancement and growth of equitable homeownership for all Americans.
Who we are:
Chrissi Johnson is founder and CEO of Alinement Advisors and The Alinement Initiative, and co-host of Real Estate Rebels.
With over 15 years of experience driving policy change as a regulator and a practitioner, Chrissi is uniquely positioned to identify opportunities for Alinement on key issues across a wide range of industry and consumer groups, coordinating housing policy efforts at the intersection of commerce and social change. Her diverse background in government, housing finance, and coalition-building make her a highly creative and tenacious problem solver. With deep experience in politics and policymaking, she knows that durable change requires breaking down barriers between stakeholders to find authentic relationships with shared purpose. Alinement is committed precisely to that end.
Prior to founding Alinement, Chrissi served in leadership roles with Rocket Companies, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Senators Elizabeth Warren and Al Franken, and President Obama’s 2008 campaign. She currently lives in Brooklyn, New York with her partner and dog Queso (and baby boy arriving September 2023), where they also own and operate a successful hospitality group.
